New Look Sale Haul

Whoop whoop it's the weekend! I hope you're all having a good one. If you follow me on Twitter you've probably seen me ranting on about trying to find something to wear for BPSFW and how my selection of dresses that I ordered from New Look were pretty much a fail bar one. Anyhoo, shock horror I actually got round to using my camera and taking 'proper' pictures to share with you all and to let you know how I got on. Also, this stuff is still available on the New Look website (or maybe in store...no comment), so this is kinda a mini review/guide too! All of these items are in the New Look Inspire Sale, by the way, and as is the nature of sales in 5 mins they might not be there...

For reference, I am a 22/24 (top/bottom) and 5'7". The dresses are all a size 22.

Anyhow. First up is the Lovedrobe Black and Red Chiffon Drape Dress, which is currently £11.00 (I paid £19.00 so I'm glad in a way that it's not worked out for me!). This dress is quite unique looking and not something I'd usually go for. Also, I'd personally say it's more of a purple-burgundy than red. As you can see from the photos, the black part of the dress is quite short - well, shorter than I expected. This dress really isn't flattering on me at all, but could work for other body shapes.

PS: The tights are the galaxy tights from Miss Difusa that I reviewed in my last post.

Next up we have the Koko Black and Gold Sequin Dress, which is currently £14.00. This thing is like spandex - if you have more ups and downs than a yo-yo then don't touch this dress with a bargepole (unless that doesn't bother you, or you have some very good pants). It does look better in the photo than it did in real life to be honest, and it is a gorgeous dress, I just think it's the wrong fabric choice for plus size women. On a positive note, the fabric is thick/heavy and it has a long zip at the back.

Now we have the stunning Koko Blue and Black Lace Top Skater Dress, which is now £13.00 (I paid £17.00). This beautiful blue fabric is very thick and heavy, it really feels great on...but, as you can see, the lace cuts into my stomach. Sizing up may overcome this problem.

Last but not least is the Aubergine 1/2 Sleeve Skater Dress, which was £9.00 and doesn't seem to be on the website anymore (though whilst looking for it I did come across this lovely Lovedrobe Aubergine Skater Dress, in the sale for £20.00). You can probably tell by my face that this is the dress that I was pleased with, though the colour is a little darker than shown on the website and the belt is slightly too small (I've got it on the last hole, though there is plenty of room to add holes). This dress is a great fit, comfortable and a definate bargain. I'll definately be wearing this for the BPSFW Press Event and, worst case scenario, I can dress it up a bit for the Saturday.

I'll be popping in to the Stratford (Westfield) store tomorrow to return the three dresses and hopefully find something else...but with the limited selection in store I won't keep my hopes up! I'll also be reviewing my PU Biker Jacket (£39.99) soon, too...
